Marilyn passed away June 22, 2012 at about a quarter to seven in the evening. She had been ill for some time. The service and celebration of her life will be held at St Paul Lutheran Church in Portland, Oregon (http://www.stpaulportland.org). The service starts at 2 PM and all her friends are welcome.
Her family requests that instead of flowers that you consider either a monetary donation in her name or a donation of time to one of the organizations or causes that she supported such as the Valley Art Association (http://www.valleyart.org/), Women's Caucus for the Arts (http://www.oregonwca.org/), or Elders in Action ( http://www.eldersinaction.org/). She was very active in the support of women, artists, the aging and disabled.
Marylin:
ReplyDeleteThe most creative person I've know
Alla them years n we dint know each other
I was 5 and some fool put her in charge
I set the living room alight out on the first farm.
She told me there was witch up on Brown's Mt that'd get me if I ever put her in harms way again
We went to Germany
She had her a Sojjer boy named Harry Edward Larry Laury
We came back
Got annother farm
They sent her to the convent
My guess is she was havin "relations with men"
Then I was 15
Somehow I got sent to take care of Jim, carl n Marylinda
Took 2 full days to get rid of the
Black fridge
Black sink
Blacl kitchen floor
Took 3 days to clean up the mountain of nasty diapers size of a VW Bug in the basement
On day fove I got bored
I took Jim, Carl n Marylinda for a drive in the Henry J
What the fuck
Key was in the ign...
When we got back Bill was there
And guess what
He was pissed at me...
Whoodathunkit....
Years go by
Thought I'd do sumthin artsy
I hit a creative wall
Called Marylin
She said to me
"
Pick out a truly mundane task
And
That spoiled brat kid that probably is still livin in ya
Will escape
And
In that place you go to you will find something wonderful
"
