We would love to have you attend her service on Saturday at 2 PM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Portland. It's at 3880 SW Brooklyn.
One memory I have is spending the summer of 1956 with Marilyn and the family. The rest of the Morks had gone to California. Anyway, so at the age of 11 I was watching the three kids and keeping them amused. Very responsible and independent. This was in the house on 79th. The environment was so different from that in our own house. I still have almost visual memories of days at the park with Jim, Carl, and Marylinda.
ReplyDeleteI also remember watching Marilyn graduate at PSU. First time I ever saw students march to Crown Imperial March. You mean there's ANOTHER song than Pomp and Circumstances? I believe at that time, Marilyn was the only sibling with a degree of any kind. Still was years before I got mine.
She and her family had what I considered the coolest house at the foot of the West Hills. I think they had their own circle of counterculture people. I remember visiting a coffee shop where I think I saw the beatnik world.
Hmmm. Maybe I should add this is from brother, Jay.
